Not only are they back out on the road but the group are also unveiling their first new material in almost six years this spring.
The group was originally formed by school friends drummer/keyboardist Jan Kincaid, guitarist Simon Bartholomew and bassist/keyboardist Andrew Levy back in 1985. United by their shared love for the funk and soul of the likes of James Brown and The Meters, the band blazed the way for acid jazz to take over the UK in the mid-nineties.
On the way, they enjoyed a series of big hits including Midnight at the Oasis, Dream on Dreamer and You’ve Got a Friend. 2013 sees the Heavies return with their first new material for some years.
You can see the band perform their new single Sunlight in the first part of our exclusive session.
Below, watch the band run through an exclusive version of Dream on Dreamer for M at Gibson Studios.
