Blue Lab Beats are a group who wear their eclectic influences well and truly on their sleeves – embracing a mosaic of styles from jazz and neo-soul to hip-hop and grime, the London duo’s sound is about as broad and as intoxicating as it comes.
Placed firmly in the centre of the city’s burgeoning jazz scene, the pair make music that is quintessentially ‘London’, an intensely cool reflection on the musical-melting pot that the underground music scene is.
But after earning several million Spotify plays collectively and bringing out their debut album ‘Xover’ - a mammoth release in contemporary jazz that further emphasises their talent for effortlessly fusing genres to gorgeous effect, it seems these two are anything but ‘underground’.
2018 is set to be an incredible year for the band, and an exciting year for the London jazz scene to which they belong.
