Crispin Hunt has been elected as the new President of the PRS Members’ Council.

The songwriter and producer will succeed Michelle Escoffery, who became the Members’ Council’s inaugural President in 2021, in the role on 1 January 2025.

Crispin, who has worked with the likes of Florence and the Machine, Sir Rod Stewart and Maverick Sabre, has been a Writer Director on the Members’ Council since 2019. He previously served as the Ivors Academy Chair and is a former Director and co-CEO of the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC).

As President, Crispin will be a leading advocate for PRS’s community of songwriters, composers and music publishers, continuing to foster strong connections between music creators, the Members' Council and the wider PRS team. Crispin will also help ensure that PRS for Music continues to provide world-class support and services for its members, while keeping their needs and concerns at the forefront of the organisation’s priorities.

Speaking about his appointment, Crispin said: ‘I am honoured to have been elected as President by our Members' Council. I look forward to serving and supporting our community with all my heart, insight and energy as we unite to navigate the future of music, uphold its human value and empower our songs, scores, syncs and symphonies through this exciting time for collective and creative rights. My heartfelt thanks to Michelle Escoffery for being such an inspirational act to follow.’

Michelle developed several successful new initiatives during her presidency, ranging from music education and income protection to new opportunities for emerging talent. She was instrumental in the launch of PRS Members’ Day, a series of UK-wide events for learning and exchange which bring the music creator community and PRS leaders together, and PRS Connects. The latter, launched in 2023, has offered entrepreneurial members a more focused space to connect with industry experts and learn how to take the next step forward in their careers.

‘Congratulations to Crispin on his new appointment,’ Michelle said in a statement. ‘Over these last four years, I’ve been honoured to see firsthand how PRS members are leading the charge — adapting, connecting and driving change in ways that will define our industry for generations to come.

'Crispin is a proud advocate of music creators, and I wish him every success in this new role. As PRS moves forward under his tenure, I am confident that our creative and professional community will continue to innovate, inspire and define the next era of music — together.’
