If you are planning to use music in your podcast, you will still need our Digital Music Licence for Podcasts and Audiobooks.
This licence is designed for digital services and websites that deliver audio only Podcast episodes & Audiobook titles content to a UK audience. Whether the content is made available to download or stream on demand on the platform, if the material contains our members’ repertoire the platform / digital service providers (DSP's) will need this licence.
Content creators / producers of podcasts and audiobooks do not need this licence unless the content is available to download or stream on their own website. An additional synchronisation licence is required for the initial fixation of music into the content, to find out more about the synchronisation options contact our licensing team.
