Who needs this licence
UK distributors, production companies, producers and broadcasters that are selling UK-originating programmes that contain members’ music.
What this licence covers
The supply and sale of TV programmes to linear TV channels, video-on-demand (VOD) services and in-flight entertainment companies.
It covers the use of:
- commercial works
- MCPS Production Music
How we calculate the licence fee
The licence fees are a percentage of the gross sales revenue of the programmes that you sell. Please note the exceptions below:
- sales to USA/Canada, where the base rate will be 17 percent rather than 8.5 percent; and
- commissioned by an artist’s record company and/or management company for distribution to UK analogue terrestrial channels will be charged at a flat rate of 17 percent of the gross sales price.
