Biography
Megan Hall is Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Concord Music Publishing.
Megan has over twenty years of experience in law, fourteen of which have been in music publishing. In her current role, Megan leads the UK-based legal team responsible for Concord’s catalogue of commercial music and oversees the global sub-publishing network for that repertoire. Additionally, Megan is responsible for Concord’s relationship with its multi-territorial digital licensing agent, ICE. During her tenure at Concord, Megan has played a key role in multiple acquisitions and has supported the company’s extensive global growth.
Megan is committed to contributing to the wider music industry and currently sits on the PRS for Music Licensing Committee Advisory Group (LCAG), an advisory group to the PRS for Music Licensing Committee, along with the ICMP’s Legal and Collective Management and Societies Expert Groups.
Before embarking on a career in music, Megan studied law at Liverpool University. After graduating, Megan completed her legal training at the law firm DMH Stallard, qualifying into the firm’s commercial and intellectual property team. Aspiring to combine law with her interest in music, Megan transitioned to the position of lawyer at Ministry of Sound where her remit encompassed recordings as well as digital and brand licensing. In pursuit of engagement with the complex and evolving nature of publishing, Megan moved to the legal team at Sony/ATV in 2011. From there Megan joined Imagem in 2013 as Head of Business Affairs and continued with Concord after its acquisition of Imagem in 2017.

Manifesto
I am standing as a candidate for the Members’ Council because I am keen to contribute the breadth of my career experience to shaping the strategy and policies of PRS. My current role as SVP Business and Legal Affairs at Concord Music Publishing, complemented by the positions I hold on PRS for Music’s Licensing Committee Advisory Group and ICMP’s expert groups, means I am immersed in issues impacting the industry and well placed to represent the interests of the PRS membership.
At Concord, we represent a diverse range of music, from pop to film and TV catalogues, from the classical division, Boosey and Hawkes, to the theatrical works of Rodgers and Hammerstein. I am of the firm belief that such diversity and collaboration strengthen an organisation, and I would carry this ethos to my role on the Members' Council should I be elected.
I would welcome the opportunity to work alongside my fellow publishers, songwriters and composers, with the common goal of optimising the success of PRS. This means a strong emphasis on streamlining processes, driving efficiencies and maximising licensing opportunities. The emergence of AI means that technology is evolving at an unprecedented rate. For composers and songwriters whose livelihoods are innately intertwined with the value of human creativity, the existing technological landscape presents challenges alongside opportunities. I will strive to uphold copyright protection and advocate for fair remuneration, attribution and accountability to enable the songwriting sector to grow alongside the technology.
It is a privilege to work in music publishing. As publishers, we are entrusted to nurture the songs, which are the cornerstone of the music industry. PRS plays a vital role in the music publishing ecosystem, and it would be an honour to be elected to the Members’ Council.
