Manifesto

Dear fellow PRS writer,

I am asking for your vote in the upcoming PRS Member’s Council. With my combined experience as a songwriter, musician, activist and political campaigner, I believe I will be a real asset to the organisation. Since streaming, the ability to survive as a creator has become much harder. I have been campaigning for years with The Ivors Academy for a fair deal for creators, and have developed a comprehensive understanding of the key concerns of all genres of music and global copyrights. From talking in the House of Lords, to organising and chairing meetings of up to 100 writers and producers, I have taken a leading role in THE NEW INDUSTRY STANDARD (NIS), a term I coined, calling for songwriters to receive points and or a fee for every cut, as well as daily session expenses (Per Diems). The Warner Group, among others, have officially agreed to Per Diems. I am also involved in producing a documentary about the crisis faced by Music Creators in streaming.

If I was on the PRS Members’ Council, I could apply my judgement and experience to help ensure:

  • An efficient future for the global Collecting Society Network: Our Collecting Societies are critical to fair and transparent remuneration for all creators.
  • Seek to stop the Government allowing AI to use our music to train AI software, undermining the value of our copyrights and livelihoods.
  • Work to increase transparency in the industry and the journey of the digital dollar.
  • Work to increase the accuracy of data to ensure all royalties are paid efficiently.
  • Work to increase the value of the creator’s share of the streaming pie!!

Please vote for me! I would work with PRS to protect your future and the future of our creativity. Thank you.
