About the artists
Jealous of the Birds
Jealous of the Birds is the solo project of hotly tipped Irish songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Naomi Hamilton. Her debut album Parma Violets, due out in April, matches introspective indie-folk with fiery post-punk. Beautifully crafted songs have been given contrasting arrangements, veering from stripped-down acoustic guitar to full-band indie-rock anthems, all overlaid by Naomi’s compelling layered vocals.
The Clameens
The Clameens are four boys, including two brothers, who are about to make their home city very proud of them. The Clameens sing about being young, drinking, fighting, falling out and having fun. Their lyrics are acerbic, smart, hilarious and honest. Their tunes will make you want to dance, and drink, and dance some more. The band supported Pete Doherty and The Strypes and were one of MTV's hottest unsigned bands of 2014.
Katharine Phillippa
Music is communication, and from an early age Katharine Philippa sang in the pram when out for walks, and crawled to the piano upon hearing it sound. Sound, visuals, words, environment, people, emotions — and their combinations in constant flux — are inspirations.
Whilst completing a Music degree at Queen's University, Belfast, KP performed in the Ulster Hall, with the Ulster Orchestra, and received encouraging radio play.
