PRS Presents in association with Girls I Rate took place on 7 March 2019 at our Kings Cross office. The event was hosted by Rebecca Judd and featured intimate performances from Etta Bond, Miraa May, Paigey Cakey and Amaria as well as a live DJ set from Ellie Prohan.

Etta Bond
Etta Bond is known and loved for her soulful British vocal and straight-talking attitude. Inspired by the likes of Jill Scott, Billie Holiday and Etta James, her songwriting finesse, coupled with her powerful delivery is teeming with a vulnerability and honesty that will warm even the coldest heart. Miraa May
Miraa May was born in Algeria and moved to the United Kingdom with her parents as a young child. Growing up, she gained a passion for music and all things creative, taking up music classes at school and any other place she could.
Miraa left the UK for the first time in her life and travelled to Salaam Remi’s (Fugees, Nas, Amy Winehouse, Ms Dynamite) Miami studio to work on EP, N15. In November, 2018, Miraa May released her Island Records debut, Care Package. Miraa May is opinionated, passionate, feisty, honest, loving, righteous and deep. Never one to hold back on what she feels needs to be said or heard, not interested in doing what the rest do, just doing Miraa May.
Paigey Cakey
Paigey Cakey is an East London based rapper who is really emerging as an essential singing and rapping voice on the scene. Influenced by her Caribbean father and British mother, as well as the music that she heard coming over from the States, she is someone who always has a story to tell and does so with a real sense of fun and feistiness. She has performed on stage as support for Lil Kim, Eve, The Game, Azealia Banks, Dappy, So Solid Crew, Krept and Konan, Stormzy and Geko.
Amaria
Standing on the frontline of the new generation of Urban raw talent is Hackney native Amaria – the new name on the lips of some of the most respected names in the industry. From winning national talent shows, from performing to tens of thousands over the world, one thing is certain… What started of as a spark in her home borough of Hackney, has now exploded on to the music scene in full force – and she has no intention of slowing down.
Ellie Prohan
Ellie Prohan is a Persian LGBTQI prowess in the form of Radio Broadcaster, Hype Events Host and International DJ. She can currently be heard on The Beat London 103.6fm which notably won Best Radio Award at the Urban Music Awards. She is also Hype Host and Resident DJ for Supa Dupa Fly and Rock The Belles which was hailed as ‘London’s best RnB and Hip Hop night’ by ‘Time Out’. Interviewing the likes of Shaggy, Black Street, Mya and Wocka Flocka to name a few.
Ellie decided to pursue her love for music and embarked on an impressive journey teaching herself to DJ, subsequently the last 4 years have seen her gracing the decks of some of London’s top nights including The Jazz Cafe, Ace Hotel, 100 Wardour Street and Soho House apartments at the Hoxton Holborn. Ellie has also crossed the pond to entertain at Soho House New York, as well as festivals such as Kopparberg Urban Forest Festival, Santorini Supa Dupa Fly Festival, Strawberries and Creem, Notting Hill Carnival and Wireless Festival.
Rebecca Judd
Rebecca Judd is a broadcaster on Beats 1 (Apple Music) & TV presenter on 4music.
Starting her radio career in 2012 at a station in Stratford called Breaklondon then moving on the community station Westside Radio where she spent 4 years presenting the drive-time show every week day. Her time at Westside included interviewing the likes of Craig David, Rita Ora, Drake’s dad & G-Eazy. As well as the Drive-Time show she co-founded the stations first ever grime show in 2015, sets from which have attracted hundreds of thousand of views.
Soon into her time at Westside, she was invited to other hosting opportunities such as the GRM DAILY podcast ‘TBC Podcast’ & the main stage at 10 thousand capacity Strawberries and Creem festival. In 2018 she made her television debut on 4music’s ‘Trending Live’ & begun voiceover work for ‘Kiss TV’ show Hype.
Rebecca became part of the Beats 1 family in January 2018 as part of ‘The Friday Show’ alongside Julie Adenuga. She has since gone on to become Julie’s official cover presenter broadcasting live on Apple Music to over 100 countries.
