Signing in
If you have an active Production Music account that has been used within the last 2 years
- Enter your email address, select I’m a registered Production Music user and enter your password and click on ‘Sign in’
- Create a new password (this must contain a non-alphanumeric character)
- Supply a memorable question and answer that we can present you with to verify your identification in future.
- Click on ‘Submit’ – you can now apply for a new licence.
If you are new to production music and haven’t registered before
- Enter your email address, select ‘I’m not a registered Production Music user’ and click on ‘Sign in’
- Enter your details on the next page
- Enter a new password (this must contain a non-alphanumeric character) and select ‘Create your account’.
- You can now apply for a new licence.
If you have an active account that has been used within the last 2 years but you have forgotten your password
- Select ‘Forgotten password’
- Enter your email address
- You will receive an email with a‘Change my password’ link – click on this link
- Enter a new password (this must contain a non-alphanumeric character)
- Supply a memorable question and answer that we can present you with to verify your identification in future.
- Click on ‘Login’
- You can now apply for a new licence.
Get a Quote

Usages
- Select a usage from the drop down box – hover your mouse over the ‘i’ (information) box to view a definition/explanation of the usage (where applicable).
- Select a sub-category from the drop down box - hover your mouse over the ‘i’ box to view a definition/explanation of the usage (where applicable).
- To add another usage to your application click on the ‘+ Add usage’ icon and repeat the above process.
Music
- Click in the ‘Durations’ box, an overlay will appear with a box which displays minutes ‘Mins’ and seconds ‘Secs’. Type in the duration of time that you intend to use the music for in the usage(s) you have selected in the previous section.
- If you are using more than one piece of music in your production, to add a new piece of music in your application click on the ‘+ add music’ icon and type in the duration of the additional music uses.
- If you want to license multiple uses of a piece or pieces of music, click on the ‘+ add usage’ icon and repeat the ‘Usages’ process outlined above.
- If you have entered the details of a piece of music incorrectly, or if you wish to remove the use of a piece of music from your application, click ‘x remove’ and the piece of music will be removed from your application.
- Once the‘Usage’ and‘Durations’ information has been submitted, Licence Manager will automatically generate a quote which is displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. The quote provided clearly breaks down the licence fee, admin fee, and VAT payable.
- If you wish to save this quote for future reference, click on the ‘Save this quote’ icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. At this point you will be asked to provide a name for the production in the ‘Name your quote’ overlay box.
- You can view your saved quote by clicking on the ‘My Dashboard’ icon and clicking on the name of the application that you would like to view.
Track Details

If you want to proceed with your application with the information already submitted, enter the details of the music that you would like to use by clicking on the ‘+ add track details’ icon. Here you will be asked to provide the following:
- Track Name
- CD Code (sometimes referred to as a catalogue number – if you do not know the catalogue number you can enter 0)
- Track number (if you do not know the track number you can enter 0)
- Composer
- The name of the music library from which you have sourced the music for your production.
If you have saved your quote in ‘My Dashboard’ click on the link to ‘My Dashboard’ at the bottom of the page, select the quote you wish to turn into an active application by clicking on the ‘View’ icon.
The information you have submitted will be displayed in the ‘View Application’ overlay box. Click on the ‘Edit this application’ icon, which will take you back to the main‘Get a quote’ page.
To complete your application, add the details of the music you intend to use by clicking on the ‘+ add track details’ icon. Here you will be asked to provide the information outlined above (Track name, CD Code, Track number, Composer, and the name of the Library).
- Click on the ‘Apply for this Licence’ button.
- The ‘Final steps’ overlay box will appear. Here you will have the option to include further information that you may want to be displayed on your licence, such as:
- Production Title (the name of your production)
- Production Company (your company name or the name of the party creating the production)
- Produced for (the name of your client or the name of the party that the production is being made for – if different to Production company)
- Reference number (if you require a reference number to be included on the licence or if you require a Purchase Order number to be displayed on the invoice to facilitate payment by your accounts department, for example)
- Additional Information (any additional wording that you would like to be displayed on your licence)
All of the information in the ‘Final steps’ overlay box is optional apart from the Production Title. If you do not want to provide any additional information you do not have to do so.
- If you are happy with all of the information you have submitted which is displayed in the ‘Final steps’ overlay box, click on the‘Confirm your Application’ box.
- Your application has now been submitted. A ‘Thanks for your application’ overlay box will again be displayed including a reference number.
You will then receive an email confirmation of your application which will include all the details you entered.
An invoice with accompanying terms and conditions will then be emailed to you within 7 working days. Your licence is conditional on payment being received by MCPS within the time stated on the invoice.
Edit your profile
Click on the ‘My Dashboard’ icon and then on the ‘Edit Profile’ icon. The Edit Profile overlay box will appear. In this box you can amend your contact information, and update your preferences for how you are prepared to be contacted by us.
