Distance sold licence
Confirmatory terms and conditions sent to music users with whom we have concluded a licence-contract over the telephone; typically used for licensees with four or fewer premises.

Premises licence
Written terms and conditions of licence issued during or after a visit to the licensee; typically used for licensees with four or fewer premises.
PRS for Music/PPL joint licence for community buildings and small workplaces
Issued by PRS for Music to permit the public performance of music in PRS’ repertoire and, on behalf of Phonographic Performance Limited, the use of copyright sound recordings in community buildings and small workplaces (office, factories and garages with 4 or fewer employees).

Corporate licence
Issued to licensees, typically with five or more premises.

Classical and popular music concerts, dance parties and festivals licence
Issued to promoters of [and concert hall proprietors in respect of] classical and popular music concerts, dance parties and festivals.

General Terms and Statement of Rights
The terms and conditions of licence and applicable licensing scheme or tariff take precedence over the general conditions if and to the extent that there is any conflict between them.
This document contains more information about the public performance rights administered by PRS and the rights that have been excluded from the scope of PRS’ licensable repertoire by our members.
