The MCPS Membership Agreement (MA2), once accepted, establishes a contract between you and MCPS.
When you sign the application form to join MCPS you are confirming that you have read, understood and accepted the terms and conditions outlined in the Membership Agreement. You do not sign an individual copy of the agreement itself.
By applying to MCPS and accepting the Membership Agreement you are:
- appointing us to collect and distribute your royalties as outlined in the terms and conditions
- asserting your right to control or administer the making of products using your music (applicable to some of your music as defined in the agreement)
The agreement is a formal legal document so, to make the terminology easier, we have created a Companion Guide.
Annexes, Mandates and Exclusions
Annexes - additions to the original Membership Agreement, for example to include online exploitation
Mandates - a particular right of your music assigned to MCPS by you, learn more about mandates
Exclusions - a particular right of your music that you do not wish to be assigned to MCPS, learn more about exclusions
