PRS and MCPS joined forces in 1997 to create the Alliance, a joint venture company which provides operational services to MCPS and PRS in respect of all their activities. PRS and MCPS share many common interests and processes, and the formation of an operational joint venture has achieved efficiencies and cost savings for our members. As separate legal entities, MCPS and PRS are still individually responsible for the administration of rights entrusted to them by their members.
The Alliance Board is appointed by the MCPS and PRS Boards and meets monthly. It has responsibility for the overall management of the group of companies, strategy, budgets and performance, and works on behalf of the members to ensure PRS for Music can respond to the rapidly changing environment in which it operates.
