The 2024 PRS Members’ Council Ballot is now open.

This year, there are eight writer candidates standing for two writer Council Member vacancies, and four publisher candidates standing for two publisher Council Member vacancies. Find out more about the candidates here.

If you don’t have an online account, don’t worry, you can still vote by requesting your unique voting from our independent scrutineer, Civica. Click below and follow the steps:

Voting closes on Tuesday 7 May 2024 at 5pm. The results of the Ballot will be announced at the AGM on Tuesday 4 June.

To vote in the Members’ Council Ballot, you must be either:

  • A Voting or Principal member, or 
  • Hold a valid Power of Attorney from a Principal Voting or Voting Member, or
  • Have been appointed as a representative for a writer or publisher that is a Principal Voting or Voting Member

Proposed change in 2024

This year we’re proposing to increase the size of the Members' Council to include ten writers and ten publishers. If approved by members at the AGM, two writers and two publishers will be elected to the Members’ Council this year.

All appointments are conditional upon PRS members approving this proposal at the AGM.

Voting for writers and publishers

Writer members, and successors to writer members, can vote for up to two writer candidates.

Publisher members, and successors to publisher members, can vote for up to two publisher candidates.

Weighting of your votes

  • Voting members – each candidate you select will receive one vote 
  • Principal Voting members – each candidate you select will receive ten votes, and if you qualify for additional voting rights, each candidate will receive a further ten votes
