First Sony Playstation game music licence announced
We have agreed a new licence deal with Sony Computer
Entertainment Europe for the use of copyright music within games
downloaded across Europe.
The licence is the first of its kind and covers the performing
rights exploited when the music featured in games is delivered
online through the Sony Playstation Store.
Covering the period from February 2007 to December 2013, the
licence will provide those members who have written or published
music used in the games with a new royalty stream.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has provided a list of the
games downloaded during this period. We are now working hard to
identify the music used in the games so we can pay the correct
interested parties.
We are planning to distribute the royalties in December 2014,
and strongly urge you to make sure you have registered all your
works used in computer games by the beginning of November.
