Limited Online Music Licence (LOML)

The Limited Online Music Licence (LOML) is being decommissioned this year and replaced with sector-specific digital music licences. It is still available for some customers to purchase until the end of 2024, after which, all customers will be able to purchase a more suitable licence. We want to help you in this transition,  please use our handy tool to find the right licence for you at this time.

Digital Music Licence for Business

This is a new digital licensing scheme designed specifically for businesses who want to use music online, but whose main focus isn't making music available.

This licence offers flexibility for businesses to use more of the music they love online through royalty rate blocks (£173 + VAT). The pre-existing £12.5k revenue cap in place for the Limited Online Music Licence LOML will be removed, allowing more business to benefit and unlock the ability to use PRS & MCPS repertoire, as well as production music sound recordings (PMSR).

Digital Music Licence for Worship

The Digital Music Licence for Worship covers the use of copyright music in the online streaming of worship services, weddings, and funerals.

Our licence extends to both live streaming, whether as a video or audio-only, and to content available for on-demand viewing.

With this licence, you have the freedom to use the extensive PRS for Music repertoire, which includes over 38 million pieces of copyrighted music of all genres – for example, when sung by the choir, played by a band/ organist, or using recorded music as part of the service.

Digital Music Licences for Education Establishments

Our digital music licences provide comprehensive cover for a wide range of online activities, for example streaming student performances, or integrating music into online extracurricular activities. These licences grant access for you to use the extensive PRS repertoire online.

Please note that Schools in Northern Ireland are licenced by EANI and do not need to contact PRS for a licence.

Digital Music Licence for Further and Higher Education

This licence is available to colleges and universities. It is an annual licence, available on a per course basis, based on the number of students enrolled in the academic year.  Student unions can also obtain the licence, based on membership numbers of the society.
